The University of Kentucky is located in the heart of Lexington, a very short distance from Downtown. Founded in 1865, UK holds the highest enrollment of any University in the state, at 32 thousand students in the Fall of 2022.
The goal of this project is to explore, in 3D, current representations of the University of Kentucky through Cesium ion, as well as look at what buildings have changed in the previous 10 or so years for the University.

The University of Louisville was founded in 1798, being one of the first city-owned public colleges in the United States. It became a state funded university in 1970.
This project aims not only to look at the change that has happened at UofL and UK, but also compare the two universities. UK and UofL are both R1 research institutions and have a large swath of undergraduate and graduate level degrees offered. Both universities are within walking distance of the downtown area of their cities. They both contain walkable campuses, however, UK's campus is much larger than UofL's.
UK has a acceptance rate of 95% and a graduation rate of 66%, compared to UofL's acceptance rate of 80% and graduation rate of 62%. The population of Louisville is nearly double Lexington, 624 thousand compared to 320 thousand in 2022. This doesn't take into account the metro area of Louisville, nor the influx of workers during working hours of weekdays.

This project has breifly shown 3D representations of the top universities in the state of Kentucky, change maps showing the construction and demolition occuring on both campuses, and comparisons based on general statistics for both colleges.
In my opinion, both Universities are comparable to one another and in a dicision of one over the other, it would come down to specifications in major, campus energy and culture, and the cities themselves. Naunced aspects would have to come into play and there is no clear winner between the two. This project was a way for me to learn more about the University of Louisville itself.
